How marketing teams can eliminate extra efforts from the workday

Marketing executives usually complaint of not having enough hours in the day but having too much to do. They have a long list of events to manage including all social media sites, grabbing more audience, more traffic and new strategies to get more popularity. Are you going through the similar plight? If yes, then you are not alone. This is the story of every team who is not working smarter. They say you can accomplish anything with hard work, but it is not always true. One of the things that I am proud of my team and is about the culture that put emphasis on working smarter, not harder. We spend our time in lots of activities by managing the work smartly over a work management tool, and our time spent working every day is as productive as it should be.

If you are in one such team and you are not able to have a control of time and work, here are few tips that can help you work more efficiently without giving any additional effort.

Have a well-organized technology

At some point, your to-do list will go beyond the management limits and turn into a full-blown project. This will demand more of your efforts, and a more robust way to manage your project. So, having a well-organized technology like a work management software will promote a simpler work management. When you have too much work to do or perhaps have missed a deadline or you are not able to keep yourself on the top of the work, workload management tool will give you a clear overview of all your upcoming for your whole team.

Re-evaluate your meetings

Overscheduled or under scheduled meetings often suck. It will only keep you off track from your workday and you will never accomplish anything productive. In one survey of 2,000 managers, respondents claimed that 30% of the time they spend in meetings is actually just wasted.

So, re-evaluate your meetings so that your marketing teams are able to define their work process, manage their work and will not be prone to any extra efforts. Do not do away with meetings altogether, keep it weekly or bi-monthly. And rest of time, you can discuss your work over a work management tool to eliminate any extra efforts.

Set small, measurable goals

Setting small goals can probably help you accomplish big things in life. When you are continuously working on a big project that seems to be never-ending, you will have to work hard as you will not be aware of the final goal. Having visible progress will give a clear indication of how work is making a difference. You can keep a tally of completed tasks on a work management tool and have a greater insight into your day.

Stay positive

Staying positive is the key to everything. If you are down in the dumps of work having a positive conversation about the challenges with a co-worker or a manager will give you a push to work more effectively. Stay positive in negativity and you will make a difference in your work environment. Focus on the things that are going right and you will see success.

Follow these tips to be able to manage your workload. Your marketing will never fall into the trap of "always working" rather than working smart.
